Just as it is common knowledge that I am not a big Star Wars fan, the same applies to Star Trek. At least logically speaking, anyway captain. It seems there was a Star Trek convention here in Sydney last weekend, and I didn’t even know about it until a week after the event.

But then why would I know or care? I haven’t seen a single episode of the latest spin off series Enterprise, I missed the latest next generation movie, and I am not subscribed to any trekkie mailing list. How did I find out about the convention in the first place? I saw it mentioned in the weekly TV guide that comes with each Monday’s newspaper.

Why am I reading the TV guide when I don’t even watch TV? That I cannot answer…
