Yes, I do go the park whenever possible, even if today was the winter solstice, and hence the shortest (and theoretically coldest) day of the year. But no mid winter swims the beach, or anything like that, for me though.
Besides, today was not really the winter solstice, anyone who knows anything would of course know it was the launch date of the new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We can surely forgo the winter solstice for an event of such importance!
Actually I have nothing against the Harry Potter franchise, although I have never read a single book or seen any of the movies.
