The Web Spiners profiles six of Australia’s best web designers. I can tell you that there are far more than six, but I digress. Of the six, three of the designers listed the Australian INfront as being among their influences or inspirations.

Though it now seems a lifetime ago now, I was part of the first working group that established INfront back in mid 1999. They were interesting days, to say the least, as we attempted to map out the project’s early direction and purpose.

Despite one or two pre-launch doubts, we were all sure that this was going to become something “big”. That three of Australia’s leading web designers derive inspiration from the work of INfront is possibly testament to that perception.

Not that I am trying to blow my own trumpet here. Haha, not at all. On my erstwhile INfront member profile, when asked to list past accomplishments I said that “achievements are yesterday’s news”, or words to that effect. Of course I was speaking only for myself.

It should also be noted that a response such as mine is also a handy way of concealing a lack of accomplishments. That may hit the nail on the head quite nicely actually…
