I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe
Such are words of Jango Fett, the bounty hunter in episode two of Star Wars. Quoting from an obviously fictional saga such as Star Wars seems almost apt at a time like this. It seems truth of any sort is in very short supply anywhere in the real world, and retreating to realm of fantasy may be the only place to find any.
Ironic, in a very disparaging way, isn’t it?
Unless you’ve been living (or hiding) under a rock for the last few weeks, most people would be well aware of the shocking events that have been brought to light in post war Iraq.
Most people would also be aware of the hideous fate of Nick Berg, a young American adventurer in Iraq, who was recently murdered by an al-Qaeda splinter group, in apparent retaliation to the abuse of Iraqi prisoners of war in US custody.
There may, however, be far more to the story though. It seems there are a number of glaring inconsistencies in the facts surrounding his execution at the hands of the al-Qaeda operatives. In fact it has now been suggested that al-Qaeda had no part in his death, but rather it was the doing of high-level US Government operatives.
This would surely be a disturbing turn of events should this theory ever be proved correct. Needless to say gaining access to the facts and real truth of the matter is something that may never happen.
Particularly at a time like this.
