
Somewhere in a giant fig tree that is right next to my apartment building, resides a very noisy bird. I still haven’t seen this feathered fiend, so I do not know what sort of bird he or she is yet.
For whatever reason though, my avian neighbour decides to wake up each morning at 4 am and start singing. The song is like an elongated whistle, like he or she is trying to attract attention.
Well you have my attention, plus that of my neighbours as well. And I don’t just mean the human ones either. Not that I’m complaining mind you, it’s great that nature thrives in the heart of downtown Randwick.
I’m just saying watch your back you big beaked baritone, as I’m sure the local cat population is also aware of your presence by now…
