  • Here’s my first Peopleized! interview since the official Peopleized! launch! Thanks to Mert who hails from Istanbul, Turkey, for taking the time to interview me. I spent a month travelling around Turkey some years ago so it was great to recount some of my experiences there!
  • Gorgeous Films is a Melbourne based film and video production house with a fun and quirky Flash website, designed by the crew of Melbourne’s Natural Cow Design. Actually both sites are, IMHO, great examples of clever flash/animation based design.
  • Full Code Press: “On Saturday 18 August 2007, teams from Australia and New Zealand will compete to build a fully-operational website for a non-profit organisation in 24 hours. No excuses, no extensions, no budget overruns.” Now if that’s not taking trans Tasman rivalry to new levels, what is?
  • On the topic of Full Code Press I’ve heard a rumour that event co-producers Webstock are planning their next full scale conference for February 2008. Anyone able to substantiate that?
  • You Are Not a Robot by Jonathan Kahn at A List Apart sets out why web designers in particular are not about to be replaced anytime soon by “super intelligent” robots or computers. “Technology is your servant”.

  • John- yes, Webstock next year will be from 11-15 February. You should come over! Plus there will be a larger FullCodePress competition immediately before Webstock.

  • Thanks for the prompt confirmation Mike :) I think a summer conference will also go down very well with Northern hemisphere designers!
