  • The happy gas the dentist put me on the other week was giving me flash backs to 1994 and the bad old days (and nights) at the Bentley Bar. A visit to Anna’s recently restored edible.nu was giving me flash backs to 2000 and what felt like the hey day of personal websites. Visiting edible.nu today is like visiting the Bentley today, both are kind of familiar but both have become quite different. Welcome back edible.nu!
  • Sex in Art: Not Safe For Work. Shall I say it again? Not Safe For Work. Ok, got it? All I can say is this website drives me to go up to the bus stop on Belmore Road and wait for non-existent “buses” to arrive while eying off girls I think are single. If that fails I try the supermarket. Hmm, I hope MySweetHeartTheFlirt isn’t reading this. She’s allowed to flirt (obviously) - but I’m not.
  • Sex in Advertising perhaps? Hey, that’s got to be an unexplored idea if ever there was one. While Sylvia comments on all sorts of clever adverts, the “sex sells” variety crop up a lot. What I like is reading Sylvia’s unreserved thoughts on some of the ads she features, such as the Natan, Levis and Renova ads. Word of caution: sensitive eyes may be offended by some ads. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
  • Too Loud! Too Small! Too Dark!: what do you think we are talking about here? The Bat Cave? Wrong! We’re talking about offices here, more accurately the idea of the “office away from the office.” According to the latest Jugglezine article by Matt Villano one author wrote three books at her local coffee shop. I’m not sure I’d fare so well if I tried transferring my blogging/writing ventures to any of the local cafes though…
  • Yes, Webstock is on next February. Mike, one of the organisers, left a comment to that effect after I mentioned hearing rumours a conference was being planned for February 2008. February is the best month of summer in New Zealand, so there’s a great chance for web people in the northern hemisphere to escape winter, go along to the conference, and then have a few weeks holiday in the sun. Check WebStock for more details.
