Five Questions is where I talk to bloggers about their projects and some of the other things they are doing. I ask {Q}uestions, and hopefully get some {A}nswers! Could you describe yourself with nine words? Is that too few, or too many? Inspired by a cinquain written by her sister, Adria Balgassi created in cinq, a blog that allows readers to ... How do you find listening to music while working? Uplifting and motivating, or a distraction? For me it can be a combination of both, but really it depends on my mood. For instance I like to stream recordings of some of triple j's radio shows as I often miss them when they are broadcast live. But some days can be better than others. Some of the music can be way too ... Read full entry

Captain's log stardate 30 July 2007... ok that's not a real stardate... date, but who cares! Captain of the USS Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard, has taken to blogging since Star Trek's "The Next Generation" was put into syndication, and I think I'm beginning to like the blog better than the TV show! Hilarious, I mean fascinating, Captain... The Prize Blog: I didn't realise just how many contests, especially blog contests, ... Read full entry

I Thought, therefore I Blog is the webspace of Singapore based blogger Chee Wee Ng, who is probably better known as BetShopBoy. His about page tells us he is fan of English football. I wonder if he favours a particular team? I usually put a dollar on Chelsea (can anyone say Frank Lampard?) and Fulham, (even when they play each other!) since I once lived in the suburb (er, ... I always like to think I learnt web design by "the book". And back in 1997 it wasn't a very big book, but in those early days there were a couple of basic tenets that "designers" adhered to. Or were meant to adhere to. 1. Manually code your HTML. Never use WYSIWYG webpage ... Read full entry

Being a loyal coffee consumer has become ever more difficult in Randwick. Since my first report on the coffee shop saturation situation locally, a couple more coffee shops have become visible to the disassociated radar. A couple have closed in the last 18 months, but there's three or four I still haven't been able to get near to date. Last time I thought ... Read full entry

One Year Goal: "Can one man really make $100,000 online in just one year?" Well there's a byline to pull in the readers if ever there was one. There are people earning six figure incomes online annually, but it took more than a year to get to that level. Still a blogger calling himself "One Man", believes he can do it! How? By blogging about making money online of ... Read full entry

I'm probably telling you nothing when I tell you (some of you yet again) disassociated.com is a blog without a niche. I don't write steadily or consistently on a given topic. There's no specialist focus or theme here. So, not quite a ship without a rudder, but something like that. In fact I have a very Jackson Pollock approach to blogging... I simply do it because I like it. I ... Read full entry

16.6°C

That is officially the temperature (celsius) in this part of Sydney at the moment. I suspect, having just been outside, that it is a bit warmer than that. Today's high is expected to be about 21°C, with sunshine and blue sky. Not bad for what is the middle of winter, and also considering conditions felt Antarctic here just a week ago. That "cold snap" was interesting, because while temperatures weren't that much below ... Read full entry

I haven't, nor have I even contemplated, reading any of the Harry Potter books (has anyone seen the size of those things, especially the more recent editions?), so when I see the Harry Potter movies I have little choice but to take the cinema versions of the epic at face value. I don't know what has been ... Read full entry
