Red Centre UNSW campus

The colours, starting from the small red wall and working up and around to the blue sky, and even the shadow angles, make this photo an interesting “study” in light and colour. According to me, that is! ;)

The building, located in the heart of the University of New South Wales campus, is called “The Red Centre”… anyone care to reason why?

And, no, it’s nothing to do that “small red wall” you can see!

A slight sharper version of this photo (size reduced for the sake of this post) is on my Flickr page.

  • Love this building. They started building it in my first year and were finished by my last. It really does look great.

  • Indeed it does! And considering it is the Faculty of the Built Environment building, it should look good! :)

  • The old architecture building is hidden within the Red Centre – you can see parts of the old external wall from the other side.

  • Actually I saw that Brad – but the area was covered in shadow, plus there was a throng of people assembled around there as well (possibly for pre-semester enrollments?)

I expect I’d to wait until summer to get some good light in that area for a photo of the old wall?
