The last two weeks have been a tad frustrating in the technology department.
Or, more specifically with Wordpress.
I honestly feel I have lost two eight hour days waiting for my WP posts to save this past fortnight.
Two days is a lot of time to try and “replace”…
Today I wrote two posts (see below). Maybe 90 minutes in total was spent actually writing both of them. As I said before, I usually write the drafts in a text editor, and then transfer the finished work to the WP post screen.
I’d say another 90 minutes, easily, was then wasted trying to make minor changes and correct typos, things that only seem to become apparent once the post is visible in the preview screen.
It seems the first two re-saves are instant, and then it becomes slow going. REAL slow going. As I also mentioned previously, I have another WP website, on another completely different server, and still notice this problem.
I can understand the odd slow patch, a little server lag here and there, but this has been quite consistent for sometime now.
I hate to be critical of WP though, maybe there is some funky server stuff going on, but it’s unfortunate that the time WP saves overall is going down a black hole.
I could be promoting disassociated, emailing people, planning new things, going out taking photos, the list goes on.
Looks I’ll be playing catch up over the weekend again.
What a whiney day it’s been…

I understand I go through the same crap on blogger man it’s frustrating!
I am new to wp and I have to tell you it is not user friendly that’s for sure. I have finally gotten the hang of things but the “snail crawl saving” is for the birds!
I think that trade-off with WordPress is that everything lags because of the really integrated, probably programmatically complex interface. I have had the same slowdowns quite a bit … especially when I want to save and continue editing to see how a change effects the formatting :P
I wouldn’t say WP isn’t user friendly… I find it very useful, it’s just unfortunate how slow it can run at times. Who knows it may be a server problem, I posted to my other WP blog yesterday, at lightening speed, with no problems at all.
