Boynton Beach Club

Serial monogamists everywhere will definitely get a kick out of Boynton Beach Club. You will able to carry on, and rest assured, safe in the knowledge that the games you play as a young person, you can still be playing long after you retire.

That’s if Boynton Beach Club is anything to go by. Doesn’t this dating and romance stuff get easier when you get older? Don’t you become more adept at it? Not by the looks of it, and that may not be all together a bad thing.

Yet does anything change with age? Do we improve as a person? The Boynton Beach Club crowd show us our high school crushes and insecurities stay with us, blanketed it seems, only by the familiarity of a long term marriage or relationship.

When returned to our “own devices”, by way of spousal death or divorce, we resume living the lie and playing up (or down) our jobs, income, circumstances, and background, in order to “get lucky”.

I can’t conceive myself being the age of the people at the Boynton Beach Club, and behaving like twenty-somethings as they sometimes seem to, but then again I can barely conceive myself as is either.

Watch this movie. For all their flaws, you want to end up like these people, when it’s “your turn”. As a wise person once said to me, “live and enjoy”.
