Last night was the opening of the GAS Project 07 at the Global Gallery in Paddington, Sydney. Among those present were Lang Leav of Akina, and Andrew Johnstone of Design is Kinky.

Travelling from New York to make a guest appearance for the event was Doze Green, “graffiti legend and Hip Hop culture pioneer”, and part of the Rock Steady Crew, who worked, live, on a painting as part of the opening night proceedings.

Anything goes at GAS, and works include a combination of graphic design, illustration, photography, sculpture, film, street art and graffiti. I have to do something about the memory card in my camera though, I could only take 18 photos!

Last year I profiled Andrew Chew and the GAS Project at OnVoiceOver, if you’re interested in reading a bit more about GAS.

It was a truly great evening. Too bad my pumpkin turned into a cabbage kind of early, seeing me scuttle off elsewhere before I had the chance to really pose. Anyway there’s a few more photos of the event on my Flickr page.

Looks fun. Did you buy anything?
I wouldn’t have minded the live piece Doze Green was working on. There was a lot of good stuff there though :)
