- Shift Magazine: on the subject of long running design websites, Shift Japan unveils its October 2007 edition, which features an interview with IdN magazine which in turn marks its 15th anniversary. Another milestone…
- Come to Web Directions Free, from anywhere in the world! By simply becoming a Web Directions affiliate you could earn free passage to the Web Directions North conference in Canada next year! I just might have to sign up for this…
- 10 Forums for Web Designers: as a regular lurker and occasional poster at the Australian INfront’s forums I often see the question asked, “are there other forums for web designers?” The answer is, there sure is, and the Tutorial Blog has compiled a list of them.
- NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month. The idea is to make at least one post every day for the month of November. I think I’ve posted something just about daily since sometime in June, yet, somewhat ironically, won’t be able to participate in this year’s event as I have to slightly pare back posting here for the duration. Maybe next year.
- Rick Wezenaar Photography: more photography from Indonesia! It has to be one of the most photogenic countries in the world! I especially liked the in the air series.
- How Old Are ProBlogger Readers? Asked Darren at ProBlogger. Perhaps unsurprisingly, 21 to 30 year olds form the biggest single group, with those aged 31 to 40 making up second largest group. And while by no means the most sizable, it seems there are a fair number of bloggers aged 70 and over. Does this mean we can all forward to pro-blogging as a life long activity?!
- Radiohead cashes in by letting fans pay much less: “Radiohead’s bold experiment to allow fans to pay what they like to digitally download its new album In Rainbows appears to have paid off handsomely.” Who would have thought…
- Thinking-Picture: is the photo blog of a South African post production visual effects artist. Wonderful work!
- Star Trek 2008: I’m a Trek fan, so sue me. Yep, it’s true another Star Trek movie is on the way. This is a prequel of sorts, and features a young “original” series crew. With one interesting exception; the character of Mr Spock will be portrayed by both Zachary Quinto, and Leonard Nimoy, who originally played the role. It will be interesting to see the tie in here. Is the movie about the older Spock looking back on his time in Star Fleet, or will there be some weird time warp effect which sees both Spocks on screen together?
- The great leap backward: “Is it possible to live without digital technology?” For even two days? That could be interesting…
