I was tagged by Chris Wilson as part of the 8 for ‘08: Random Bio meme that is currently making the rounds.
I’m not too-too big on memes, but I guess one per year is ok, so I’ll give this one a go. Ok, eight random things about me:
1. Singapore was the first overseas country (ok, city/state) I ever visited, en route to Europe where I lived for four years. The Singapore visit included a whistle stop trip to the Malaysian state of Johor Bahru.
2. Have swum in the Black Sea, Turkey. The crystal clear water was awesome.
3. I have visited the Siwa Oasis in Egypt. Alexander the Great once stopped there for a coffee. We needed “special permission” from local police to make the trek due to Siwa’s proximity to Libya.
4. While based in London, I went to Portugal intending to visit for two weeks, but ended up staying two months. I’d easily live there (somewhere in the north but still close to Lisboa) permanently.
5. Though I talk about sport I actually in fact hate sport.
6. I was an original founding member of the Australian INfront in 1999.
7. I launched the first inception of this website in 1997, and shortly after started up an “online journal”… the word blog had yet to be coined at that stage.
8. I find trying to say eight things about myself rather difficult to be honest :)
Now I’m not exactly sure who to tag since memes tend to tick people off these days, but if YOU, the reader, would like to partake, feel free to pick up the baton. If you do, leave a comment pointing to your post.

John,
Meme’s are a little lame. But thanks for playing along anyway.
I knew that you’ve been here since 1997, but I didn’t know that you had you hands in so many places on the web. You were blogging before blogging was cool (or at least we think it is).
