Reaching 100 Is Easier Than Thought
If you’re like me and wonder how to get more done in a day, the answer may be to take the (real) long tail, or big picture, view and aim to live well beyond your average projected life expectancy.
Would living to, and remaining relatively fit and sharp of mind, until you were 100 or older, allow you sufficient time to achieve everything you need to?
Well apparently it’s possible, according to recent research which followed the health and lifestyles of people aged 70 or older, over a 25 year period.
“It’s not just luck, it’s not just genetics. … It’s lifestyle” that seems to make a big difference, said lead author Dr. Laurel Yates of Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “It’s get your shoes on, get out there, and do some exercise,” she said. “These are some things you can do” to increase the chances of a long life.
Still, don’t do tomorrow what you can do today though.
