Religion a figment of human imagination

So says London School of Economics anthropologist Maurice Bloch.

Humans alone practice religion because they’re the only creatures to have evolved imagination.

Maybe the Pope could therefore consider canceling his upcoming Sydney visit, and the millions of dollars spent laying it on could instead be diverted to the state’s hospitals and schools that are falling apart.
