A list of the winners of the inaugural Grammys 1958
While your mileage may vary, a number of names (such as Henry Mancini, Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, and André Previn) are, as far as I am concerned, quite familiar. I recall seeing many of these artists in my grandparent’s record collection though.
Frank Sinatra also makes it onto to the inaugural Grammy list (the first awards ceremony took place in 1959), but he wasn’t recognised for his singing, instead he won the Best Album Cover award for the design of his Only the Lonely record cover.
Do I detect a some Joker or Two Face undertones here though?
