Useful WordPress Timestamp tip

posted by John Lampard on Friday, 16 May, 2008 to the comment subset

When drafting posts, especially those you are working on over a period of days, using the timestamp feature, to set a future date and time for the post to publish, can make a handy hedge against accidental posting.

Any future date is fine, as there’s nothing worse than clicking the “publish” button when you meant to click the “save” button, and posting what is a work-in-progress draft instead.

These sorts of things can happen at 2am, especially when one is eager to log-off for the night.

When you are ready to actually publish the post simply change the timestamp date appropriately.

Not just for WordPress people either, but anyone with a CMS that permits future dating of posts.
