The first two shots in this photo collection, of what are mainly Jumbo jets landing at Kai Tak, Hong Kong’s old Airport, where taken from high rise buildings bordering the airport.
When you were in an aircraft making a landing there, those high rise buildings bordering the airport almost looked as if they were just beyond the craft’s wing tip.

I landed there once, years ago – really scary – I remember seeing a woman on a balcony above me ! as we came into land.
Scary but part of traveling to HK I think… Chek Lap Kok though lovely isn’t quite the same :)
