The modern bloggers’ guide to blogging etiquette

Posted by John Lampard on Tuesday, 8 July, 2008 to the comment subset

It is polite, or at least a thoughtful gesture, to ask the permission of those concerned before publishing the content of private conversations on your blog.

I go to a lot of events and I have a lot of conversations and people tell me lots of things that would get them into trouble if I published it. Yet they trust me and trust that I won’t burn them but I’m not sure everyone understands this etiquette especially those that are new to publishing. Sometimes people ask me “Can I blog that?” when I say something. Sometimes that’s OK but at least they are asking first.
