A list of rules for computing happiness

Alex Payne’s list of suggestions for a hassle free computing experience. There’s so much of his list I agree with I cannot pick out one point that especially stands out from the others, except possibly the plain text editor point:

Use a plain text editor that you know well. Not a word processor, a plain text editor.

I don’t always use a plain text editor, but I rarely touch word processors.
