Animals on Twitter, it’s not just for the birds…

Prudence, a guinea pig living in Edmonton, is just one of thousands of pets who has a page on one of the growing number of social networks created especially for animals.

Five years ago, Prudence’s existence would have begun and ended uncharted: now anyone, anywhere in the world, can click into the minutiae of her tiny life. She has become an entity, with documented likes and dislikes, somehow more real because of her virtual status.

And of course number of our furry and feathered friends are also have a presence on Twitter as well.
