New York designer Stefan Sagmeister completely closes his studio for 12 months every seven years and devotes the time to travel and pursuing other interests.
As he sees it his sabbaticals are an advance of time from his retirement years meaning he’ll work until he is 70 (which – the way things are going – is probably what we’ll all be doing anyway…).
