Not exactly correct, John. In the USSR Christmas (being a religious holiday) has been abolished and officially replaced by the New Year celebrations of grand proportions. All these cards are the New Year greeting cards not Christmas! Try to notice the difference! :)
So you’re saying Santa Claus was associated with New Year, not Christmas celebrations, in the former USSR?
