Revisiting the lunar landing sites of the Apollo missions

Some newly released photos taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) show, with great clarity, the Apollo 12 and 17 landing sites on the Moon. So sharp are the images, even the foot trails made by astronauts on the lunar surface, some 40 years ago now, can be seen very clearly.
