Breezeblocks and the triple j Hottest 100

Tuesday, 29 January, 2013

Australia Day was also Hottest 100 day, radio station triple j’s annual listener poll of the best music releases – of the more indie/alternative sort, if such labels can still be used – from 2012.

While Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took out the number one spot with Thrift Shop, British indie rockers Alt-J, whose music featured a couple of times in the countdown, came in at number three with their single Breezeblocks.

There’s obviously some love gone wrong going on in the video clip for “Breezeblocks”, but have a go at making sense of its sequence of events.
