On until this Sunday, Sydney’s Centennial Park will definitely be a foody’s paradise for the next few days.

Semi-Permanent gets underway at Darling Harbour, Sydney, next Friday, 19 March, and features two days of art, design, creativity, and a line up of speakers that includes triple j presenter and writer Craig Schuftan, US photographer Jill Greenberg, and Melbourne graphic design duo Tin&Ed.

The recent Spot Food & Film Festival has given me a taste for… food, so it looks like I’ll be heading along to Taste of Sydney, a four day festival of food and dining, taking place in Sydney’s Centennial Park, from tomorrow 11 March, through until Sunday.

Curated by Sydney artist David Capra, the HIDDEN: A Rookwood Sculpture Walk exhibition opens on Thursday 18 March 2010, and can be seen until Sunday 18 April, at Sydney’s Rookwood Cemetery.

HIDDEN: A Rookwood Sculpture Walk unveils the work of 24 artists’ responses to the Rookwood site, one of the largest cemeteries in the Southern Hemisphere. Through assemblages and ephemeral, text and sound based installations; artists open up questions about death and grief and explore their own personal connection to the site.

The Spot Food & Film Festival 2010 photos

The streets around the Ritz Cinema, in Randwick, Sydney, were closed yesterday afternoon for this year’s Spot Food & Film Festival.

This was the closing event of the inaugural Australian Film Festival, which opened on 24 February 2010.

Needless to say there a lot of delicious food on offer. See more photos of the festival on my Flickr page.

The photo set also includes pictures of Claudia Karvan’s and Steve Bisley’s induction to the Australian Film Walk of Fame which occurred on the same day.

Future Music Festival Sydney 2010 photos

Despite a not too promising forecast of rain for Saturday, the weather for this year’s Future Music Festival, at Randwick Racecourse, in Sydney, couldn’t have been better.

I’m in the process of rounding up a selection of photo collections and galleries from the day, a taste of what those lucky enough to take in the likes of The Prodigy, Empire of the Sun, John Digweed, Way Out West, and Franz Ferdinand, saw…

The Mixed Business art show is the business of some 40 artists

Wow, nearly 40 artists are taking part in the Mixed Business exhibition at aMBUSH gallery, Waterloo, Sydney, which opens on Thursday, 18 March, at 6pm.

The show, which is part of this year’s Sydney Semi-Permanent design conference, runs until Sunday, 28 March.

The Spot Food & Film Festival 2010

The Spot Food & Film Festival 2010 is taking place in The Spot, Randwick, right outside the Ritz Cinema, at the conclusion of this year’s inaugural Australian Film Festival, on Sunday, 7 March.

The Spot will once again be transformed in to a colourful and festive market. Road closures on St Pauls Street and Perouse Road will allow for local businesses to take stalls and offer specials on the day. There will be lots of food and market stalls and a kids activities area. The open-air stage will offer a range of entertainment throughout the day. Bring the family along for a day of fun! The day will conclude with the induction of a film great in to the Walk of Fame and the Australian Film Festival screening at The Ritz cinema.
