Apparently the “English” sports game cricket originated in Belgium not England, according to (and the plot thickens) an Australian researcher.
Experts believe the game was introduced by northern Europeans who settled in England from the 14th century. It may even have been resisted by the local population at first. And to add insult to England’s injury, [...]

In Bruge, as in the historic Belgium town, is a journey through both heaven and hell for two Irish hitmen – sent there to apparently hide out after a botched job – as each seeks a redemption of sorts.
