Wear red on a date, be treated to a far better time

Posted by John Lampard on Monday, 3 November, 2008 to the comment subset

There's definitely some "get up and go" associated with the colour red. Not only do athletes who wear red tend to do better than their opponents, women who wear a red outfit of some sort on a date are more likely to experience a higher quality outing as opposed to being dressed in another colour... In the final study, the shirt of the woman in the photo was ... Read full entry

Where have all the pink palettes gone?

Posted by John Lampard on Monday, 21 July, 2008 to the design and art subset

So seriously, what's up with the disinclination to use pink hues in design work? As a graphic designer, I find a lack of pink in my job. Posted by John Lampard on Monday, 29 October, 2007 to the design and art subset

Brown was the colour to use in web design three years ago. And for interior design a little more recently. It occurred to me over the weekend that my apartment looks like a cross between a box of chocolates and, also maybe, an Ikea showroom. This, you understand, is all part of an effort to be... fashionable. I have chocolate coloured (hues vary ... Read full entry

Spectrum

The colours, starting from the small red wall and working up and around to the blue sky, and even the shadow angles, make this photo an interesting "study" in light and colour. According to me, that is! ;) The building, located in the heart of the University of New South Wales campus, is called "The Red Centre"... anyone care to reason ... Read full entry
