Filmed on South Australia’s spectacular Fleurieu Peninsula, The Boys Are Back weaves an at times uneven tale of a man (Clive Owen) adjusting to life as a sole parent after his wife dies, who goes from having one child to care for to two, upon the arrival of his son from an earlier marriage.

If I were to subtitle Clubland, I would call it “The battle of the boy”.
The boy is Tim (Khan Chittenden), and he is caught up between this mother (Brenda Blethyn) who demands his loyalty, and his new girlfriend Jill (Emma Booth), who demands his attention and time.
