While the nature of work, and working practices, have changed markedly in the last generation or so, the question remains, did our parents also have trouble explaining their work to their parents?

While the role of a CEO can be outlined with just a handful of words, the brevity of the job description somewhat belies the task that confronts incumbents of the position.
A CEO does only three things. Sets the overall vision and strategy of the company and communicates it to all stakeholders. Recruits, hires, and retains the very best talent for the company. Makes sure there is always enough cash in the bank.

Ok, so a lot of apparently glamourous jobs aren’t all they are cracked up to be, and some seemingly no so fantastic jobs may be better than they sound. If you have aspirations of being a CEO, artist, or even the next US President, think again though.
World leaders get very little sleep and are blamed for every negative trend in security, taxes, the economy and health care. Plus, they almost never have a day to themselves for their entire term. Sure, you get to travel the world and have access to the best food, doctors, airplanes and exercise equipment around, but is it all worth it if you don’t have time to enjoy it?
