Stone Roses threaten reunion shows, and, and, a third album??

Thursday, 19 March, 2009

The Stone Roses are a story of rock excess in their own right in that they produced just two albums in the 12 years they were an act. Now rumours are swirling of their reformation and plans to play a string of shows in Europe and the US later this year.

Despite only recording two albums in their 12 years as a band, the Stone Roses’ best years coincided with the halcyon days of “Madchester”, contributing heavily to the city’s reputation as a place of burgeoning talent and fun. Their 1989 debut is consistently named in top 100 albums lists.

(Ok, I made up the bit about the third album… but it’s been 15 years since the last one, so another must surely be imminent?)

Update: nope, the whole thing is off, or rather, is “unfounded” according to the band’s erstwhile guitarist, John Squire.
