Given the number of "independent" t-shirt designers that are about now, this idea actually makes a lot of sense, a t-shirt search engine. PleaseDressMe is a classic example of scratching ones own itch. AJ, Gary, and Joe love finding great new tees, but finding said tees wasn't the easiest thing in the world.
