I have two questions for you. One: would you accept an offer to write a post on someone else's blog, that is, guest blog? Two: would you ever invite someone else to write a "guest" post for your blog? Here are my answers. To question one: I've done it before, but I'd think twice about doing it again. To question two: No, not on your life! Why? Because disassociated.com is my website, ... Read full entry

The reworks to the local art wall at the nearby Cafe 105 in Randwick aren't as frequent as they used to be, but Ben, an Arts graduate, who creates most of the images here, was back over the weekend. As always I have posted some larger versions to the Cafe 105 Art Wall folder on my Flickr page.... Read full entry

Fracture

There's no doubting the versatility of Anthony Hopkins as an actor. The last couple of times I have seen him, in The World's Fastest Indian and Bobby, he portrayed kindly older men, who may possibly be reminiscent of your grandfather. In Fracture however, he is almost unrecognisable. Playing Ted Crawford, an aircraft engineer, Hopkins' role sees him return more to the dark and ... Read full entry

Jerk Free Jobs: Asher Adelman who gave us eBossWatch (which I recently reviewed) has launched a job listings website that only accepts ads from employers who have received workplace awards, or been verified as a "great workplace" by an external consultant. This is an idea that is waiting to take off on a global scale! CSS @ Ten: The Next Big Thing from A List Apart. ... Read full entry

If you are interested in a review of your blog or website, please contact me. Overview "There are eight million stories in the Naked City, this has been one of them..." The tag line from the classic TV police show, Naked City, could quite aptly describe Web Urbanist, which features articles ... Read full entry

Riddle me this. How many social networks must a blogger join before they become a blogging superstar? 20? 30? As many as it is possible to join, and then some? I'm actually willing to go out on a limb here, and bet the answer is closer to "as few as possible". As a busy (theoretically) blogger how many social networks could you actively participate in, while seeing some sort of return (that ... Read full entry

As I don't own a car (don't really have the on-going need for one at the moment) it often means I am hiring them several times a year. It also means I don't listen to anyone who says "you've seen one car, you've seem them all", because that just isn't so. This weekend I have a Hyundai Accent. It's a nice enough car ... Redirection by Urban Giraffe is an extremely useful Wordpress plugin for anyone with Apache web hosting. I'd been having trouble trying to get my .htaccess file to manage redirects since I migrated to WP, but that's all a thing of the past now, thanks to Redirection! GAS PROJECT '07: a heads up for those in Sydney, this year's event kicks off on 5 September at ... Read full entry

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you'd know by now that John Chow has redesigned his blog. The redesign work was actually undertaken by Nate Whitehill, and the job probably represents a major promotional coup for his newly formed enterprise Unique Blog Designs, which creates and sells "exclusively designed" Wordpress blog themes. Needless to say John Chow's new look has drawn a range ... Read full entry

Do you get sick of playing "join the dots" when it comes to verbally stating website URLs and email addresses? How much time, in a day, might the average blogger, or anyone for that matter, WASTE constantly including all those DOTS in their speech? Here's what I mean, let me "pronounce" my URL, or ...
